- DSM Venturing and Business Development (DV&BD) has joined the Advisory
Board of Oxford Performance Materials (OPM) and selected Robert Kirschbaum to
an advisory position. “We are quite pleased DV&BD has agreed to join the
advisory board of OPM,” said Scott DeFelice, President of OPM.
“Commercializing ultra-high performance polymers is a highly complicated and
demanding task and DSM has an excellent track record of both technical
innovation and sound execution in this regard. We are confident their
guidance and support will further accelerate our business development and
broaden our strategic perspective.” DSM has selected Rob Kirschbaum, Vice
President Innovation, to sit on the OPM Advisory Board. Mr. Kirschbaum has a
long track record in the field of high-performance materials. He nurtured the
Dyneema superstrong fibre project as from the early start until
commercialization and was General Manager of the worldwide Polyamide 4,6 (Stanyl)
business in the nineties. “My interest to be on the board of OPM fits in
nicely with the DSM Vision 2005 strategy in which we set out to become a
producer of specialties, such as high performance materials,” said Mr.
Kirschbaum. “In my current position as Vice President Innovation at DSM
Venturing & Business Development, I am continuously on the lookout for
promising innovations that have a fit with DSM’s current or future
activities. I feel that OPM is a good example of such an innovative activity
and I look forward to contributing to the further development of OXPEKK®, a
top-range engineering material in which I have a lot of faith.” DSM
