Our
OXPEKK® polymer products enable innovation.
|
Innovation: The interplay between OXPEKK® thermoplastic materials,
advanced design concepts and leading edge processing technologies creates
competitive advantage and innovative technology for our customers.
History: The Oxford family of companies was founded in 1982 by
Nicholas F. DeFelice with the formation of Oxford Industries. Oxford
Industries is an industrial marketing services firm specializing in
aerospace products marketing.
By 1988 Oxford leveraged its industrial marketing expertise and
entered the thermoplastic compounding business. Oxford Polymers
(www.oxfordpolymers.com)
currently operates a 100,000 square foot ISO/QS production facility
in New Britain, Connecticut, producing engineered thermoplastic
compounds.
By 1997, we began active exploration of advanced materials and
received government funding for advanced materials research and
development activities. These activities have reached commercial maturity
and been spun out into a separate entity to form what is presently Oxford
Performance Materials (OPM).
In 2002, OPM received venture capital funding from
Connecticut
Innovations (CI). CI is the state's leading investor in high
technology and is charged with growing Connecticut's entrepreneurial
technology economy.
Philosophy: At OPM we endeavor to create winning materials
technology and winning business relationships. We understand that both
elements need to coexist to create value. We propose business models that
offer ease of use and flexibility. It is our oath to protect the
investments of our business partners and customers as we would expect in
return. OPM is a privately held enterprise with strong family traditions
which reinforce ethical codes of conduct. Top of page
